This is by far my most popular photography workshop day. Join me on a full day to capture your images of the beautiful mountain hare in their winter pelage (coat). In winter we have excellent chances to have full snow conditions on the hill, glorious backdrop to our subject.
Of course the mountain hares are wonderful to see and photograph all year round! They are at their most colourful during late winter/early spring. This period in the year they take on beautiful mottled colours of ginger and beige with still some patches of white on their pelage as they transform into summer.
Spending 2 days with the mountain hares is magical. If weather and conditions permit we aim to visit 2 different locations. My two areas I love to photograph are the Monadhliath and the high Cairngorms. These offer contrasts in terrain, landscape, altitude and varying types of snow in the winter months.
